    QR Code Generator

Generate a high-resolution QR code from any URL, UPI ID, phone number or plain text.

    Frequently asked questions

Is this QR code free to use commercially?+

Yes. QR codes are an open format — you own everything you generate here. Print on posters, business cards, packaging, menus, invoices, anywhere.

    Can I create a UPI payment QR?+

Yes. Pick 'UPI payment', enter your VPA (like yourname@upi), and optionally your name and a fixed amount. The QR opens in Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and any BHIM-compatible app.

    Does the QR expire?+

No. The generated QR encodes your data directly — as long as the destination (URL, UPI ID, phone) is still valid, the QR works forever.

    Is my data uploaded?+

No. Generation happens 100% in your browser using an open-source library. Nothing is sent to any server.

Who should use QR Code Generator

    • Shops printing a UPI payment QR for the counter
    • Sellers adding a review or reorder link to packaging inserts
    • Event organisers linking to a schedule or a feedback form

How to use it, step by step

    1. Paste the URL, UPI string or text you want encoded.
    2. Pick a size large enough for its printed use — bigger is safer for long payloads.
    3. Download the PNG and place it with generous white space around all four sides.
    4. Scan the printed copy with two different phones before you print in bulk.

Why payload length and quiet zone matter

QR codes encode data in modules; more characters means more modules and a denser grid. A dense code printed small, or without the surrounding blank margin known as the quiet zone, becomes unreliable under shop lighting. Shortening the URL is the single most effective fix.

    Worked example: packaging insert

    • Long URL with tracking parameters: 132 characters, dense grid, fails at 2 cm print size
    • Shortened branded link: 28 characters, sparse grid, scans reliably at 2 cm
    • Printed at 2.5 cm with a 4-module quiet zone: scans first time on both test phones

Shorten first, then size. A 2 cm code with a short payload beats a 3 cm code stuffed with UTM parameters.

    Common mistakes to avoid

    • Printing below about 2 cm for anything but the shortest payloads.
    • Removing the white quiet zone to fit a tighter layout.
    • Inverting colours or using low contrast between the code and its background.
    • Never testing the printed version — screen scans are far more forgiving than print.

    How to read the result

If a code fails to scan, shorten the payload, increase the print size, and restore the quiet zone in that order. Keep the destination link under your control so you can change where it points without reprinting.

    Frequently asked questions

    Do the codes expire?

No. The code is a static image encoding your text, so it works for as long as the destination does.

Is my UPI ID sent anywhere?

No. Encoding happens in your browser and the resulting image never leaves your device unless you share it.
